We will be hiking  Point Mountain, which is very accessible and well-loved.  It begins with a steep start, then continues as a nice ramble along  the crest of the mountain, along fields, and then parallels the Musconetcong River on the return of this 2-ish-hour loop.  Here's the 411: https://www.njhiking.com/nj-hikes-point-mountain/ I can meet folks at CHS at 8:30 and then we can caravan to the trailhead.  Otherwise, meet at 9:00 here: Five intrepid hikers completed the Point Mountain hike.  Sally Bird soldiered on despite her left knee issues.  What a feat!  Here are some pictures from the hike: The Agony of Da Feet!! Pray for clear weather: the views are outstanding! Bring cameras, masks, a dog or two.  See you then! Julie

We will meet at 9am near the trailhead at Hacklebarney State Park, one of my favorite spots of all time. Due to Covid restrictions, the trails are all one-way. The state's website (below) shows the various trails.  We will do the red loop and return with the yellow back to the parking area. Our hike will take approximately 1 1/2 hours; the park will not be crowded at that hour. The trails are largely clear but sometimes narrow and uneven with roots and small rocks.   If you would like to do a caravan, let me know. We would gather at CHS at about 8:30 to get there by 9.  The park entrance can be a little hard to find if you've never been. Bring masks, cameras, water, a snack....see you there!  Dogs are ALWAYS welcome  at Hacklebarney, too! Holy Hike #2 20 March 2021

We will meet at 9:00 am at Cushetunk Mountain Preserve on Saturday 20 March for our second hike! The parking area is very easy to find- it's at the intersection of Old Mountain Rd. and Railroad Ave, right by the train tracks.  Address: 106 Old Mountain Rd. Lebanon,  NJ  08833.  I estimate the hike to be approx. 1 1/2 hours.  If some of you want to splinter off and extend the hike, that's an option.  As you can see from the map, the trail does continue into Whitehouse, behind Pickell Park. Here is the trail map: https://www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/depts/parks/ParkAreas/Cushetunk/trailmap.pdf Looking forward to seeing everyone!  Wear sturdy shoes and bring water and masks. Thank you everybody for joining in this hike.    Happy Spring!  If you have any photos to share, send  them to me and I will add them here.

Our first Holy Hike!  Given the snow accumulation from the earlier storm, I decided to stay level and stay local.  We created a loop along the Ken Lockwood Gorge and the Columbia Trail in beautiful Califon, NJ.
